Terms of use
The plain rules for using the free hosted PriceSentinel service. By creating an account you agree to them.
Last updated:
1. The service
PriceSentinel at pricesentinel.bogdanandras.com is a free, hosted instance of the open-source PriceSentinel price tracker, operated by Andras Bogdan-Andrei. It lets you track prices of products on online stores and receive alerts. The software itself is available under the MIT license; these terms apply only to the hosted service.
2. Your account
- You need an email address and a password to sign up. Keep your password safe: there is currently no way to reset a lost password.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account and for the API keys and notification channels you add.
- One person, one account. Do not create accounts to get around the limits.
3. Limits and fair use
Free accounts are limited to 25 products, up to 3 store links per product, price checks at most every 6 hours, 10 AI research jobs and 50 AI assistant messages per day and 3 notification channels. The service is meant for personal price watching, not bulk scraping, reselling data or automated load. Do not use it to attack, overload or probe stores or other systems, to fetch content you are not allowed to access, or for anything illegal.
4. Stores and their terms
When you add a link, PriceSentinel fetches that public page on your behalf. You are responsible for making sure that tracking a store’s prices complies with that store’s terms of service. Prices, stock and product data are read automatically and may be wrong, late or missing; always check the price on the store before you buy.
5. AI features and your API keys
AI features use the API key you provide. Your use of an AI provider is governed by that provider’s terms, and you pay the provider for the usage. PriceSentinel is not responsible for the provider’s charges, availability or output. AI results can be wrong.
6. Suspension and termination
Accounts that break these terms, abuse the service or put it at risk may be limited, suspended or deleted, where possible after a warning. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the settings page.
7. No warranty
The service is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. Checks can be delayed, alerts can fail to arrive and data can be lost. Keep your own export if the data matters to you. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from the use of the service, including missed deals or purchase decisions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes to the service and these terms
The service is a personal open-source project. Features, limits and these terms may change, and the service may be paused or discontinued. Significant changes will be announced on this website, and if the service shuts down you will be given reasonable time to export your data where possible.
